The Aston Martin DB7 is a grand tourer produced by British luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin from 1994 to 2004. It was the first model built at the company’s Gaydon facility in Warwickshire, England, and was also the first Aston Martin to be powered by a V12 engine. The DB7, designed by Ian Callum, was available as both a coupe and a convertible, and was the best-selling Aston Martin of all time, with more than 7,000 units produced.
The DB7 was powered by a 3.2-litre supercharged straight-six engine, which was later upgraded to a 4.0-litre unit. The car was available with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic gearbox. The car was praised for its handling and performance, and was able to reach a top speed of 160 mph (257 km/h).
The interior of the DB7 was luxurious, with a hand-crafted leather interior, wood veneers, and power-adjustable seats. The car was equipped with a state-of-the-art audio system, air conditioning, power windows, and power steering.
The DB7 was well-received by the press and public alike, with some reviewers praising the car’s performance and others lauding its looks. It was also lauded for its excellent ride quality, which was considered to be superior to that of its rivals.
In 1999, the DB7 was facelifted and given a more powerful 5.9-litre V12 engine. This model, known as the DB7 Vantage, was available with both a manual and automatic transmission. The Vantage was even more powerful than the standard DB7, with a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h).
In 2002, the DB7 Vantage was updated and given a 6.0-litre V12 engine. This model, known as the DB7 Vantage V12, was the most powerful and fastest Aston Martin ever produced, with a top speed of 190 mph (305 km/h).
In 2004, the DB7 was discontinued and replaced by the more modern DB9. The DB7 has since become a highly sought-after classic, and is regarded as one of the best Aston Martins ever produced.
