Zelenogorsk is a city in the Krasnoyarsk Krai region of Russia. It is located on the Yenisei River, about 25 km (16 mi) east of Krasnoyarsk. The city was founded in 1721 as a fortification to protect the Russian Empire from the Mongolian nomads. It has since grown into a modern city with a population of over 50,000 people. Zelenogorsk is known for its beautiful scenery, with the Yenisei River running through the city and the surrounding mountains providing a stunning backdrop.
